Boston is Back!

As many of you know, I spent ten years living in Boston and it truly is one of my favorite cities in the world. The combination of history, dining, and just walking around enjoying the city can’t be compared to many other places. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure to visit family there and see how the city has reopened after a year of being asleep. I was also able to be one of the first guests to experience the stunning Newbury Boston which had opened its doors only a few days before my arrival. Plus, I took the time to go on an adventure I never fully experienced in all my time spent in the city - take a look:

The Newbury Boston

To say that this hotel sits at the epicenter of Boston is not an understatement. The address (1 Newbury Street) boasts the perfect location at Boston Common on Newbury Street, one of the most famous shopping districts in the world. You are steps away from everything Boston has to offer a tourist from the Freedom Trail, Charles River, and sensational dining destinations. Originally opened in 1927 as one of the first Ritz-Carlton hotels in the United States, this hotel has been a part of history and seen many global leaders and celebrities. Now, the property has been completely remodeled to position itself as a leader in luxury travel in the Boston area - and it does not disappoint!

Part of The Leading Hotels of the World collection, The Newbury Boston offers a sophisticated and luxurious stay with whimsical and local touches. The 286 rooms are appointed with a calming palette and accented with original artwork and fun accents. The coffee table books included Stolen - an authorized account of the works stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Make Way For Ducklings, a Boston classic. Many of the rooms feature beautiful views of the Public Garden and almost 50 rooms have wood-burning fireplaces (complete with a wood menu). There is a residential vibe throughout the property which makes you feel at home as soon as you walk into the doors.

Outside of the rooms, I loved exploring the common areas and was so happy to see that they maintained the elegance of Street Bar, a longtime Boston institution. It is the perfect place to grab a cocktail and plan your Boston adventure. Off the lobby is a beautiful area I was able to meet with clients called The Library which is exclusively for guests of The Newbury. And, the rooftop restaurant, Contessa, was not yet open when I visited but I was able to tour this stunning space overlooking the entire city. I can’t wait to experience it the next time I am back in town.

If you are looking for a luxurious getaway in Boston, this is your destination. I am happy to answer any other questions you have about the property and help you plan your trip. When you book with me, you will receive special perks like room upgrades, early check-in, late check-out and more! Take a look at this beautiful property and keep reading about my new Boston adventure:

Boston’s Freedom Trail

Although I lived in Boston for over ten years and probably went past a part of the Freedom Trail on an almost weekly basis, I never took the time to explore it from beginning to end. Since I had a friend in town with me who was new to Boston, I took the opportunity to adventure along the path with an audio tour. The tour guides you through 16 sites and is a collection of museums, burying grounds, parks, a ship, and more. (Plus there are a couple of cool pubs along the way if you get thirsty :)…) Next time you are in Boston, I encourage you to take a couple of hours and go on this adventure - the start of the Freedom Trail is only a short walk from the front door of The Newbury!
