AKA New York

I recently had the pleasure of staying at two fantastic AKA properties in NYC when I was there last month. If you have not heard of AKA, take a few moments to learn about them as they are a great option for long and short-term stays. They have properties in metropolitan locations such as New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and London. Lodging ranges from one and two bedroom apartments to penthouse hotel suites. Take a look at my notes from my recent stays:

AKA Central Park

My stay in NYC began at this property which, obviously, is located right near Central Park. The location is great - near the Apple Store and 5th Ave shopping. The room was spacious with a great kitchen and space where you could actually entertain if you wanted. They had laundry facilities and a nice lounge area but what stuck out the most to me was their fitness center - possibly one of the nicest I have ever been in. State of the art, large, and a great workout space.

They also had an amazing business center which was great for working during the day. Complimentary Wi-FI throughout the property also made work easy and there was even a huge conference room if someone had the need. The property certainly lends itself to longer stays but I would pop in here for a weekend trip if I wanted something larger than the typical NYC room.

AKA Times Square

Also in a prime location, this hotel would be perfect for a Theatre Weekend or any stay where you want to be in the heart of it all. The staff was beyond friendly and they have a wonderful public space with a sensational outdoor balcony (featured above.) Rooms were spacious and well-appointed with a clean, modern feel.
