Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas

This past week I had the pleasure of visiting the Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas. A lot of people have reached out to me about the property and it had been years since I had been so I decided to check it out for myself. Overall, it was a wonderful experience but there are definitely some tips I would like to share that will help with your experience. (I also get amazing packages and deals at the resort so let me know if you are interested in planning a trip!)

Where To Stay

There are quite a few options on where to stay on property with numerous towers and experiences. Based on price point and what you are looking for, these guidelines should help:

Beach and Coral Towers are the oldest ( originally owned by Merv Griffin) and the least expensive place to stay on property. The towers are going through a renovation so make sure you ask for a renovated room if you elect this option. The "look" is consistent from the rest of the property but they are a further walk from casino, etc.

The Royal Towers are near the casino and most of the nicer restaurants. I would say it is definitely the most convenient and the shortest walk to most things. It is also home to the "Bridge Suite" which is consistently ranked as one of the most expensive hotel rooms in the world at $25,000/night.

The Reef and Cove are the newest buildings and condo/suite residences. The Cove has its own pool which is amazing and a wonderful there is also an "adults only" area.

Eating & Drinking

In my opinion, the least desirable part of a vacation at this property is the cost/quality of food. Most resorts are expensive but this was almost sticker-shocking. ($32 hamburger). The plus is that there are MANY food options on property from fine dining to casual wraps, etc. You can also get a food plan which starts around $100/day for two meals. You can certainly find ways to cut costs on food but consider this expense when planning.

What To Do

I was not sure how I would feel about just lying around a pool all day so was pleasantly surprised to find a ton of activities geared towards any ages. My friend did a Dolphin Experience which he loved and there are tons of opportunities on the water for boating, etc.

One activity we loved was The Current which is a lazy river meets white water rafting. So fun. TIP: You can take your cocktail on the ride ONLY if it has a lid. Luckily, I was traveling with my favorite Tupperware salesperson so we had the perfect beverage holder. She is offering them right now on special over 50% off on her website - perfect for The Current or anywhere else! Here is a link to grab 4 for $14! (http://mytwpage.com/dixielongate)

There is also a large casino that gets very busy, high end shopping, and an amazing aquarium experience throughout the property. Whether you are a family or group of friends, you will be entertained.
